City hires two retirees to work in the planning department

Two men are emerging from retirement to take over the city of Island Park’s planning and building responsibilities when the current administrator, Steve Foster, moves to Nevada later this month.

Steve Lookabaugh, a Chester area resident, will serve as the city’s planning administrator and compliance officer.

Lynn Jones, a Buffalo River Estates resident, will be the building inspector.

The Fremont County Commission this week appointed county native Tom Atchley to replace Kip Martindale on the county’s Planning and Zoning Commission.

Atchley has operated several businesses in the county and now owns Powerline Construction in Ashton.
